A New Perspective on the Moon Lee scandal 20 years later

Dennis & Alyssa Law Nov. 6th, 2024

As an assistant Producer working for the Dennis Law Center for Arts & Technology in Denver, USA, I have had the great pleasure of helping to produce and promote the Action-Musicals directed and produced by Dr. Law in the United States.  My familiarity with his monumental works of musical theater as well as his person and his character gave rise to my curiosity when I discovered much continuing interest among the Chinese and in their digital media in a subject matter so long ago involving the sex scandal of his ex-wife, a well-known Hong Kong action actress Moon Lee (Li Saifeng).    Baidu.com and other online media platforms still show reveal a writer and reader obsession with details behind the divorce involving Dr. Law and Li Sai Feng nearly twenty years ago.

It is utterly incredible to me as a Chinese resident of the United States that such a true story sexual misconduct by a Hong Kong movie star would still garner so much interest today.  As sordid details get retold in a different light each time, the abnormal obsession with Li Sai Feng’s sexual perversion seem to reveal a wishful hope for her innocence.  As a Chinese citizen working in America and familiar with US laws and customary behavior, the truth behind the scandal should be obvious to any objective person.  Moon Lee’s old declarations of innocence were clearly lies if one would allow logic to take over emotion.  Yet some internet postings have stated that Li Sai Feng surfaced in recent years to restate her old false allegations.  A badly written and ungrammatical article in English I read in yahoo.com made assertions that were blatantly factually false; it again promoted that their divorce was caused by the emergence of a “third person” in the form of the present Mrs. Law, Wang Xiaoli.  It is disappointing that so many Chinese would ignore the obvious and intentionally ignore the facts only to cover up the guilt of their idol.  Are these the concerted actions of her close friends and relatives trying to whitewash her tale of sexual perversion, or are they the mere manifestation of a wildly ignorant fan base?

The very notion that Dr. Law made up the story of Moon Lee’s scandal to benefit him in the divorce of Li Sai Feng is blatantly absurd on its very face.  In most states of America, no spouse gains any advantage in divorce by bringing up “faults” or “sins” by the other spouse.  One glaring misstatement by current writers is to declare that Dr. Law paid US$14,000 each month as alimony to Li.  This would imply that Dr. Law was the guilty party in the divorce because he had to compensate his ex-wife.  Little do Chinese people understand that many states use “No-Fault” laws in divorces; that is alimony and property settlement is totally unrelated to “fault”.  US laws allow divorce if only one spouse petitions for it without consent of the other.  If either Dr. Law or Li Sai Feng were the devil incarnated, it would not change the economics of the divorce.  As a matter of fact, the final Court order ending the marriage actually gave Moon no alimony going forward, and only provided her a total sum of US$36,000 as expense reimbursement to move back to Hong Kong.  Those court orders were not because the Court believed that Moon Lee had an awkward extra-marital affair; it was strictly because Dr. Law and Moon during their marriage did not earn any money of significance because they were only engaged in non-profit work of promoting Chinese performing arts to America.  In other words, the marriage did not produce any net income, so there was no legal reason to share any with Moon Lee.  A husband’s or wife’s pre-existing wealth plays no part in divorce settlements.

I studied the official legal documents in order to clarify another untruth that has been circulated online.  At some time, the current Mrs. Alyssa Wang Law, (the former Wang Xiaoli) did file suit in a court in Beijng alleging defamation for proclaiming her as the “third person” in the divorce.  Claiming in any public forum that Wang Xiaoli lost that lawsuit is blatantly false and a flat outlie --- Wang Xiaoli did not win that lawsuit because the Chinese court decided it had no legal standing to render the verdict Wang was seeking because they seem totally unknowledgeable about defamation laws with which China had become a party to by signing an international treaty.  That court did demand that Li Sai Feng send a letter of apology to Wang Xiaoli and for Li to warrant that she would refrain to make such statements in the future.  That was actually a silly “win” for Wang Xiaoli, but one that would have been impossible to enforce.  As it turned out, Li Sai Feng wrote and published a wandering and meaningless letter in accordance to the court order.  Wang chose not to waste her time to relitigate the issue in later years because instead of being damaged by Li Sai Feng, she became a huge financial beneficiary of her scandalous and incestual extra-marital affair.

Dennis and Alyssa Law, as long as I have known them and worked with them, never talk about this ugly part of their lives; neither Li Saifeng’s bizarre sexual misconduct or her lies about Wang Xiaoli (Alyssa) being the “third person” causing her divorce.  They are a successful and loving couple with a grown-up daughter that is now a remarkable and successful software engineer.  When I showed them what I found online, they just laughed; they seem grateful for that obscene and ugly history that actually gave them their today!

As I read the book, Two Faces of the Moon, (available easily online via bookbaby.com or everand.com), it clarified a lot of queries.  All of Dr. Law’s actions were totally understandable because, as an American, Dr. Law would not make up a wicked story to punish Li Sai Feng.  He felt the need to assert the truth, often on the record, because Moon Lee was always telling lies to hide her guilt.  Some commentators have asserted that Dr. Law was mean and ungentlemanly to his ex-wife; and I have never seen that side of him.  I believe it was total fair play to repetitively declare the truth when the offending party continues to tell lies.  It has always been an impossible task to battle an adoring Chinese media and an army of ignorant fans of any Chinese celebrity.

Despite nearly two decades of unending interest loaded with inaccuracies and lies in Chinese cyberspace, the life and career of Dennis Law (Luo Qiren) merely blossomed to great heights after the divorce.  I am responsible for the construction of Dr. Law’s websites so anyone can seek further information on www.dennislawcompanies.com and www.drdennislaw.com.  For one last time, he has given me permission to use whatever information and photographs I have in a public forum.  From this time onwards, he wants the scandal to be put to rest.  And I thank Dr. Dennis Law (Luo Qiren) for giving me the opportunity to be his final arbiter of the truth in this matter.

For Dr. Dennis Law and his family now, the old and now forgotten tragedy has created one of the best love stories ever told!!!

With Moon Lee far in hindsight, life is a wondrous thing!

April 2024 at nephew's wedding in Mexico City

The constant drip of visitors to my old blog on Moon Lee reveals the curious and continued interest in her scandalous affair so far in the distant past.  While the magnitude and the nature of her sexual transgression could not be understated or underestimated, I am always surprised (when I rarely check this site) that someone remains curious after such a long time.

Alyssa and I have long forgotten her silly actions.  As life has become so filled with happiness and satisfaction, we can even believe we have totally forgiven "her".  After all, without her mindless betrayal, we may not have what we have today.  Life is certainly full of mystery and surprises.  A presumed tragedy can lead to unexpected rewards and celebration.

Anyone interested in my life after Moon Lee can check my websites www.dennislawcompanies.com and www.drdennislaw.com.   There is noting to hide as these are a matter of public record.  What happened between Moon Lee and me is now significant history.   I do not know nor care how she feels about the past.   My family and I feel no shame or regret, only great relief.  A useful life's lesson is that any relationship with a celebrity, worthy or not, is indeed a treacherous choice, and is one that we are hellbent never to repeat!

Time has not dimmed the crazed interest in Moon Lee

Time has not dimmed the crazed interest in Moon Lee

Twenty-five years after the start of Moon Lee’s history-making “incestuous” sexual misconduct and scandal, the silly blog that I built and occasionally visit for comic relief still gets nearly a thousand visits each month.  This relentless interest has nothing to do with my writings; instead, it is a pure reflection of how this pretty Chinese idol of years past still captures the interest of her fans both young and old.  Of course, the dramatic and rare nature of her sexual transgression added fuel to the fire, never to be put out by the tincture of time.

My biggest comic relief is derived from reading the rare comments from readers, both pro and con.  Of course, those that sympathized with my recollection of truth and facts impacts me very little --- I knew what the facts were, and I was never concerned about who was on “my” side.  It takes a lot of crazy and wildly disparate opinions to make up our world.  But for the few that wrote and blamed Moon’s misconduct on my sexual transgression, they have the right to make idiotic statements but they have surely lost their way.

Prior to my sudden and shocking discovery of her perverse betrayal, I believed I had married the prettiest girl in Hong Kong films who at all times acted like an affectionate and doting wife.  Life then seemed too fulfilling for a smart guy like me to be looking for a “side-kick” girlfriend of any caliber.  But once her idiotic 2 year-long sexual misconduct was discovered, all bets were off because she spent the next four years trying to rob me of my inherited wealth.  The divorce took over four years to finalize even though the process was based on “no-fault laws”.  Moon Lee took years to tell the lie that I made up the scandal to get advantages in the divorce settlement – a seemingly believable story to Chinese fans, but it is implausible to any sensible American.  In the end, Moon got almost nothing in the final divorce decree, not because she betrayed her marriage spectacularly, but because we as a married couple earned little money producing dance musicals as non-profit ventures for the express purpose of cultural exchange.  During those years, I gathered a large amount of tax deductions because of my cultural contribution to humanity.  During the entire ordeal, there was no incentive or motive for me to tell a big and crazy 'lie" about Moon Lee!

I write occasionally about history past not to continue to hurt her feelings, as some would believe.  My wife and I are not seeking revenge either.  Our life after Moon Lee has been so fulfilling and happy that we are almost sinfully thankful for her transgression that led us coming together.  So, any comments that I may commit to “paper” and to cyberspace are purely for the purpose of “keeping the record straight”.  Even if all this shall be read by only a tiny few, leaving a record of truth is cathartic for me.  And of someone hates me for doing it, so be it.

In my book, Two Faces of the Moon, is available for very little money online.  All occurrences therein are one hundred percent factual.  If anyone chooses to dispute facts, the problem is theirs alone.

20 years later - a retrospective

20 years later - a retrospective

It has been about twenty years since Moon Lee embarked on her treacherous journey of betrayal of her then marriage in a history-making fashion.  This passage of time revealed a long record of both believers and non-believers of my side of actual events.  In retrospect, this does not matter to me.  I revealed the truth only to set the record straight because Moon chose to tell lies to hide her shame.  Only ignorant people will believe otherwise because I had no reason to say anything that was not the awkward truth.

I cannot be bothered about how Moon Lee is doing now.  The utter shame she must have felt should have caused her great stress since her scandalous divorce; that was indeed the reason for her lies to cover up this momentous disgrace.  I can only revel in my own happiness since I got rid of the scourge of her relationship.  I do not regret meeting her but I do regret what she turned out to be.   But that is all in the past; my new beginning had given rise to a glorious new dawn of life.

My family life and professional life have never been better.  See www.drdennislaw.com and www.dennislawcompanies.com.  My wife Alyssa is the joy of the Law family and enjoys its bountiful benefits.  My daughter has graduated from one of the best technology colleges and is now independently working as a software engineer.  In addition to my traditional commercial real estate business since my retirement from surgery,  I own interesting hospitality businesses: www.canyonmadnessranch.com and www.cabobajaluxuryvacations.com.   My recent musical theater production, see www.MozartRequiemEvermore.com, was a success beyond the wildest imagination.

Two Faces of the Moon --- the eBook about Moon Lee that unveils her mystery

Ever since I unveiled the Moon Lee blog on Google in order to satisfy the insatiable curiosity about Moon’s dramatic fall from grace, I have often been asked questions by friends, acquaintances and unknown readers that have no simple answers.  I published a book entitled Two Faces of the Moon in Hong Kong during the lengthy divorce in order to document facts and truth behind the notorious scandal of the times as well as providing a deeper insight into a profoundly unusual series of events in a Chinese family.

Any reader with curiosity about this history-making marital misconduct can read Two Faces of the Moon as an eBook through www.kobo.com.  Not only does this book reveal all the truths behind this spectacular and perverted extra-marital affair of unworldly proportions but also it provides a rare insight as to how these sexually aberrant actions are viewed and handled in a Chinese cultural setting.

Eighteen years have passed since I discovered her betrayal in dramatic fashion which led to one of the most protracted divorces I have ever heard of in my life.  All these years later, the end result is that my new life with my wife, Alyssa Wang, whose was the target of Moon’s cowardly lies, could never have been better while the once infamous Moon Lee has fizzled into oblivion.  Alyssa, who was once furious about Moon for her defamation, now giggles and thanks her for her scandalous actions.  Our successes financially, socially and culturally are legendary in our community.  Despite her misdeeds and betrayal, we somehow pity Moon Lee for what she must have become.  As before, we are sure she would continue to “keep a stiff upper lip” in public, but it is hard to believe she can reestablish any decent family life --- only a real “nutcase” of a man would marry someone with such a history of sexual and financial deceit.

Defamation Lawsuit Squashed by Chinese Court

BEFORE
AFTER

Several years after its filing, our defamation lawsuit against Phoenix TV was squashed by the Chinese Court in Beijing.  The Court essentially refused to litigate whether Phoenix TV was right or wrong in allowing Moon Lee to tell obvious lies on television.  They dodged the issue as expected because it is common place for Chinese courts to protect everything Chinese!  I was an outsider, and Phoenix TV is a Chinese-authorized media outlet.

But my original purpose was satisfied.  I never sued for monetary damaged; only asked for an apology.  Even without getting one that I did not really expect, the suit served to keep alive the narrative of Moon Lee’s idiotic sex scandal.

In many ways, my wife and I feel no sadness or pleasure running into matters related to Moon Lee.  She did the craziest thing, but it could not have led to a much better result for me.  We do not have to make efforts to “make her pay”; there is no need for any sort of revenge.  She cannot possibly be doing well (at least compared to us), and it is all her own doing.  Neither of us can or should look back.

The Moon Lee story should set a meaningful example of how one should be clear-headed about love and romance.  There are far too many traps and temptations that can send one to a living hell without means to return.  Buyers beware!

Drowned in a pig’s cage for a wife’s extramarital sex offense

If it had occurred over a hundred years ago in China, Moon Lee could have been drowned in a pig’s cage as punishment for her mindless affair.  A graphic artist employee of mine made this image up for me as a joking gift years ago --- depicting Moon in a cage surrounded by water with the words “Drowning Phoenix in Cage” (Moon’s Chinese name includes the word for phoenix).  Everyone had a good laugh at Moon Lee’s expense.

Of course, Moon Lee was much luckier, having been born in 1965.  Instead of a fate involving a tortuous drowning, American society in the twenty-first century deals with divorce in a “No Fault” fashion.  As such, it does not matter how egregious the sexual misconduct was that lead to the divorce.  The terms of the divorce have no relationship to fault.  That is why it was comically stupid that some in the Chinese media actually believed Moon’s lies that I made up the story of her incestuous secret love affair with an unworthy kid barely old enough not to be a minor.  Of course, no self-deprecating lie was necessary.  My assets were well protected by carefully constructed Trusts so that they could not be accessed in any kind of a divorce.  That alone was the reason why Moon Lee got very little during that protracted divorce.  The reasons she still tried (albeit unsuccessful) made her even a bigger villain than her original sin.  That is the backbone to my truthful account of the real story of the divorce.  I had absolutely no reason to insult myself with a lie to get rid of this villainous woman.

Moon Lee undeserved celebrity status also gave her advantages --- she had a “megaphone” with reporters to tell lies, lies that would never have passed scrutiny if she were just a normal woman.  That was why years after the fact, she was given that one-sided interview by Phoenix TV --- an interview that Phoenix TV admitted in writing to the Court that they were not intentionally defaming me because they never had any intent to portray the truth.  Phoenix TV just wanted sensational gossip for viewership.  So that was a “relief”!

So in the Old World, a straying wife could be drowned in China.  In modern China, however, a deviant sexually promiscuous wife can be even glorified by the media and given opportunities to lie more about her victimized ex-husband.

I wonder whether we are living in more enlightened times!

Moon Lee Sex Scandal of 2006 – A very Chinese story with Chinese results

Only a Chinese sex scandal can have these very Chinese results!  They just love their movie screen idols and their gossip stories without end.

As great as life has been for my wife and me over the last ten years, we had long forgotten about the comically silly Moon Lee sex scandal that lead us to be where we were at.  We were enjoying the “good life”, knowing with certainty that Moon would be suffering from self-deprecation, forced isolation and denial.  It shocked me to learn that Phoenix TV, Hong Kong, through their Shanghai affiliate, offered her a two-hour interview with rapidly declining television journalist/personality, Ms. Lu Yu.

As expected, the TV interview allowed Moon Lee the unchallenged opportunity to lie about her divorce.  Everything Moon Lee said about me, her ex-husband, and my wife was false; we all knew she had a real need to deny the truth.  We expected as much and was not interested in joining in a debate in public about the matter.  We knew that most sensible people in the world knew the truth anyway because Moon’s version does not pass the “common sense” test.

However, a close friend who is also an excellent attorney persuaded me to file a suit against HK Phoenix TV because she felt that they had caused harm by defamation in accordance with China laws.  I had long realized that libel, slander and defamation charges are not possible between husband and wives according to US laws.  So the premise was not to sue Moon for public lying (because I did not believe that I could be damaged by her silly lies that only the dumb and dumber would believe) but rather to do something to create hardship for Phoenix TV for being so prejudicially one-sided in the re-telling of such a societal tale of passion gone wild.  So I agreed to spend some money and let the attorneys deal with the grief of suing a foreign media company doing business in China.

It took years to end up in Court that concluded recently.  As the plaintiff, we technically lost in the verdict because our two main demands were not supported by the judge --- admittedly, I believe to be the right verdict according to US law.  I asked Phoenix TV to pull the televised episodes so the public cannot see it and also asked for an apology.  Yet, the TV company and producers had long ago pulled the two TV episodes off the market already.  I did not get the apology because the judge correctly claimed that Phoenix TV had admitted in Court documents that their production was all for audience viewership and numbers rating and had not claimed any reliance on the truth.  They just published whatever the interviewee said just for viewership and controversy, and therefore owes no one an apology for not being factual.  All that I must totally agree with!  If the infamous program hosted by Ms. Lu Yu is nothing but admittedly a gossip presentation, then a new truth has been established.  That is all I can wish for!  Now I know and everyone in China should know too.

Here is my perpetual message for Moon Lee as she continues to live a life of pretense:
Thank you for your scandalous sexual misconduct that left you “in the dust” and led me to a new and gratifying life.  I was much less angered by your ridiculous sexual misconduct than in your unsuccessful and dishonest attempts to get rich quickly through divorce.  In loving you, I was fooled by your acting; in leaving you, I found out easily that you never had the substance and character to stick with a family that is highly-educated, financially secure and well respected.

The late implications of the Moon Lee scandal so long ago

Much more than a decade has passed since Moon Lee’s idiotic sex scandal of her own doing.  Very little of those events crosses our minds now.  Yet occasionally, friends or relatives would bring to our attention certain things they hear or read about this “has-been” actress of Hong Kong films.

It seems that poor Moon Lee’s life is still focused on frequent attempts at self-advertising --- though for what good purpose is questionable.  On the freely accessible cyberspace, she keeps publicizing her daily activities or traveling experiences as if there is a useful teaching purpose behind them.

As for me, the early sting of her thoughtless sexual misadventure has given rise to a wholly new life with endless opportunities.  My wife now is a respected stalwart of the Law family, enjoying all the benefits of being part of a successful, financially secure and highly educated family.  My daughter is a talented computer science student at one of America’s most prestigious technology institutes.  As for me, retirement from surgery has given much time to enjoy our real estate business and develop a new and successful hospitality business that involves owning prestigious and luxurious vacation homes in the Baja peninsula of Mexico and a 14,000 acre ranch that boasts the most incredible scenery, a huge lodge that overhangs a magnificent river canyon and also unprecedented firearms and equestrian activities.

Tired of working under difficult governmental restraints in China, my prior interest in music, theater and dance has given rise to my charitable donations to give birth to the Law Institute of Arts & Technology and its associated annual Denny Awards for excellence in electronic music.  Since its inception, we have produced many theatrical concerts that utilize the newest digital technologies to provide entertainment content that is all immersive and comprehensively entertaining for all audiences.  The latest production is Ms. Butterfly and can be reviewed at www.MsButterflyDIFAT.com.

Defamation lawsuit against Moon Lee’s lies still alive and well

Phoenix TV (Hong Kong) had its China division in Shanghai interview Moon Lee a couple of years ago and offered her a nearly two hour opportunity to lie and defame me despite her well established history-making sexual misconduct.  My lawyers soon launched a defamation lawsuit against Phoenix TV for broadcasting the program because it knowing allowed one party in a famous dispute to lie against the other without the opportunity of presenting the other truthful side of the story.  The suit was against the TV station rather than Moon Lee because she has no financial means to pay meaningfully for damages anyway, and I agreed with my lawyers that nationally important media must be taught a valuable lesson.

My understanding is that a delay in the court battle was brought about by Phoenix TV unwillingness to admit and accept the legal “service” of notification of the lawsuit.   But I was assured by my legal counsel that it will only be a matter of time --- they have made adjustments that sooner or later, the whole disgraceful episode of bizarre sexual transgression will be re-lived again by Moon Lee.  It reincarnation of the wicked story was not my choice of course; it was Moon’s choice to lie again in such a public format that prompted this kind of response.  For no sinner has the right to lie and put blame on the innocent.

My life has been going so well since the divorce from Moon Lee that it has no effect on me to have to re-live Moon Lee’s betrayal so many years ago.  I see from her online representations that she is still drifting around acting as a non-professional tour guide and travel critic.  As for me, my wife now is the envy of all and my daughter is attending one of the most prestigious institutes of technology in the United States.  I have made a gigantic bequest to a major university to establish an institute of arts and technology to honor my parents’ name --- so I am still producing musical theater of the most unusual kind.  And I am in charge of a number of big businesses involving commercial real estate, vacation travel and other hospitality businesses.  The latter allows me to own many magnificent villas in ocean resorts of Mexico and many ranches in Colorado and New Mexico.

So life has been good after the silliness of Moon Lee.  Rather than hating her for her infamous betrayal, I am often humored by the great potential afforded me by my new life without her.  Even if I were to wish her well, it would not amount to anything for nothing will change the emotional burden on her for committing this unbelievable and shocking sexual misconduct of this generation.  It has all along been her cross to bear!

Moon Lee sacrificed her future to become loneliest tour guide in cyberspace

In 2004, the retired well-known Hong Kong action movie actress, Moon Lee, embarked on the darkest possible journey of the strangest sex scandal and in doing so sacrifices her gifted life and reputation.  Ever since the ending of her long divorce process through which she gained so pitifully little, she has become a little-noticed China tour guide in Chinese language cyberspace.

Essentially without religious beliefs all the years that I knew her, she has become a devout Buddhist since her divorce.  Of course, many in history have resorted to religion to make amends for great sins and transgression.  With her past career and educational history, it is tough to imagine any gainful occupation for a woman of her downgraded stature.  It is also doubtful that she can find any beneficial romantic or marital relationship with anyone worthwhile.  So for all these elapsing years, the only experiences she shares is that of being a Chinese tour guide for heavily Buddhist-oriented sites in China.  She can only hope that someone really cares --- but my guess is that hardly anyone really cares!  Does anyone of substance really care what a washed-up movie actress of old really thinks about scenic sites of China?  Do scenic Buddhist sites offer any better relief?

This transformation of a previously well-regarded personage of Hong Kong films is remarkably pitiful.  Not that Hong Kong films was a subject to be revered; they have always been lacking in quality for years.  Nevertheless, Moon had a heartfelt journey as an underprivileged youth that rose through the ranks with adversity and hard work despite all that was stacked against her.   Yet, with carelessness and even transient lack of moral compass, a whole life’s work and reputation can be shattered.

Even my wife, a victim of Moon Lee’s treacherous slander and who has been her bitter enemy for obvious reasons, feels sympathy for this truly pathetic woman.  Indeed, she wants to convey happiness by floating around the Chinese landscape as a cyberspace tour guide, but anyone that vaguely knows her would understand that this represents hell on earth for Moon.  She craved notoriety and she yearned to make the greatest contribution to Chinese art, culture and Chinese dance.  And all this is gone forever!

In contrast, my family and I have accomplished enviable goals.  Other than my core of thriving real estate and investment businesses, I have developed a slate of successful hospitality businesses.  More gratifying is my major bequest and donation to an important American university to set up an important institute for arts and technology for both education and research.  By doing so, the creative expression afforded by multicultural resources and emerging digital technologies can create a new generation of entertainment content.  My daughter is now enrolled in a prestigious American institute of technology to study computer science and is poised to contribute to society and family through her expertise.

Moon Lee’s scandalous action of the last decade has been forgotten and almost forgiven.  We are all on different paths and mission.  Nevertheless, it is occasionally intriguing to guess how things could have turned out if she had chosen not to take that acute turn towards sexual betrayal and lies in that fateful year of 2004.  Yet dwelling on guesses or alternate reality is for fools.  The reality is that Moon did take that disastrous acute turn in 2004 while enjoying an enviable life and the rest is memorable history.  I am successful in business, in family life and in philanthropy and Moon has remained an unimportant webspace Buddhist tour guide.

Churning the Moon Lee swamp

In collaboration with my company’s public relations section, our decision has been to keep churning the Moon Lee sexual misconduct “swamp” because it seems useful to keep the truth alive if for no reason than to keep pressure on a sanctimonious self-absorbed woman who continues to perpetuate lies.

In occasionally reviewing the readers of this “blog”, it is clear that the Moon Lee subject has attracted readers from many varied countries.  Of course, I am not certain whether this is due to her undeserved “fame” across so many countries or rather due to the spectacular nature of her sexual transgression.  For certain, it is rare indeed for a famous married actress, mother of two children, to engage in a perverse extra-marital affair with an uneducated, poverty-stricken teenage boy that was over twenty years her junior.  The so far successful marriage of French President, Emmanuel Macron, to a twenty-four year older wife is not a fair comparison.  This much younger husband became the President of France, and this is no small feat.  In contrast, the teenage boyfriend of Moon Lee was a “nobody”, and he never became anyone of substance.  Moon Lee had to take a suicidal dive in stature and financial security in pursuit of this absurd extra-marital affair.  I would venture a guess that a successful sexual relationship between a woman and a boy over twenty years younger is rare indeed.  Emmanuel Macron is the exception that proves the rule!

The silliness of worldwide movie fans is also a feature that has also surprised me over the years.  As obvious as it was and still is that I am the person with the truth on my side, I have read occasional comments, especially among more idiotic Chinese fans, that favor Moon Lee’s version of events.  These ignorant idiots have no way of comprehending why I, the then husband, had no reason whatsoever to invent a ridiculous story of betrayal (between my ex-wife and a teenage boy) in order to divorce her.  It was a shameful event by any stretch of imagination, and it was totally unnecessary.  In America and in Denver, divorce is based on “no fault” laws ---- therefore blaming my ex-wife as the culprit made no difference in the divorce process.   In fact, declaring the truth caused me more harm and delay; it made the divorce process more protracted.  Moon Lee was so shamed by the truth that she chose to fight it with “tooth and nail”.  When the divorce was finalized, Moon Lee walked away with little not because of her misconduct but because I had long quit my profession as a high-earning surgeon and was living off earnings from inherited family businesses that were clearly not “Marital Property” subjected to division.

The lesson to be learned worldwide: do not adore actors and actresses you experience on-screen.  As human beings, they may have no resemblance to on-screen portrayal of character.  Any person has to be judged by his or her real-life actions.  Moon Lee was pretty enough and displayed worthy martial art skills in all her action roles.  As a real person, however, she was anything but a “sweetheart”.   She was pretentiously humble and maybe her deep-seated vanity eventually precipitated her ultimate downfall.  Marrying her was an unmitigated mistake!

In retrospect, Moon Lee's photo library betrays her self-assurance and self-adoration:
UNFORTUNATELY, MOON LEE WASTED HER GOD-GIVEN BEAUTY AND TALENT.

Moon Lee, the “Pretender”, now deserves to be a joke forever

It has been quite some time since I have written any commentary on my ex-wife, Moon Lee.  The task had been delegated to my company’s public relations manager.  Since we are now all vacationing here together at my private vast ranch in New Mexico with a host of important friends and laughing at Moon’s silly misconduct that destroyed her life, I decided to make some remarks for old time’s sake.

It is clearly not because I am a good liar or a great storyteller that makes it clear to everyone why I had no choice to divorce Moon Lee.  Her sexual misconduct demanded it; but her greed delayed it.  At the end, I spent a lot of legal fees to ensure that her greed was not satisfied.  Colorado was a “no-fault” divorce state --- that is the very reason that I did not need to invent a story of Moon’s incestuous sexual misconduct to secure a divorce.

It was indeed hard for me to discover the actual truth.  It was unbelievable; it was damn stupid of her.  No one will ever understand Moon’s reason --- it can only come from her because no persons can ever speak on her behalf.  If it were a “one night stand”, that could have been a mistake.  Yet it was a two and a half year secret affair --- so it was well-considered, well-rationalized and totally intentional.  Moon Lee gave herself no respectable way-out!

Everyone that knows me appreciates that my divorce from Moon Lee left me much better off than before.  I have either God or destiny to thank for that.  Professionally, financially and personally, I am not in want of anything.  In retrospect, I know clearly that I could not have stayed married to Moon and forgave her for her absurd transgressions.

Moon was indeed a very attractive Hong Kong action movie star that made a lot of bad movies because of hideous scripts and incompetent directors.  Her great action skills did not make up for those bad projects.  Moon was also betrayed by her first husband, a Cathay Pacific pilot; he was having an affair with a flight attendant while Moon was pregnant with her son.  She was devoted to Chinese dance and owned for several years several dance studios in Hong Kong in order to teach young children.  Yet her devotion was not supported by her expertise --- she had no formal dance training and her hobby interest was only fed by her acquiring a children’s teaching certificate from a short training at the Beijing Dance Academy.

So many years after her divorce, Moon Lee seems to be a drifter and a self-appointed amateur tour guide using her own travel experience.  I wonder who cares for the travel log of a washed-up Hong Kong action actress that is now unenviably middle-aged.  If she has re-married or has any kind of love life, she would not dare to reveal it.  I would bet that she has nobody --- no man of substance would be so dumb.  No man who would enjoy her company would dare advertise it.  Moon is destined to live in the shadows.

Admittedly, my company and I follow her status intermittently if for no other purpose that to make certain she does not make any further false claims.  There is still a lawsuit that I have filed against Phoenix TV (Hong Kong) for colluding with her to defame me.  These lawsuits filed in China that involves penetrating national boundaries take unusually long time.  My attorneys say there are no worries --- the opportunity to re-litigate Moon’s lies will come.  Any protracted dealings concerning Moon’s notorious sexual misconduct can only be to our advantage.  She alones suffer the consequences of this devastating shame!

A Sex Scandal of Immense Consequence

Dr. Law and the entire Law family have always commanded huge respect and success for obvious reasons.  On that basis alone, it is easy to understand how Dr. Law was unscathed by the sex scandal of the century perpetrated by his ex-wife, an “over-the-hill” ex-actress, Moon Lee.

After the conclusion of one of the most infamous and protracted divorces in Colorado history, Moon Lee was awarded very little for her greedy efforts and retired from her previous life of a celebrity and theatrical co-producer to a life of an obscure Chinese website tour guide and amateur cook.  Seemingly in permanent escape or hiding, Moon Lee is afraid of exposing her whereabouts and true lifestyle.

On the other side of the coin, Dr. Dennis Law transcended the insult of being betrayed by a monumentally erring wife, and now sits on top of an empire of personal, financial, professional and philanthropic successes.  His present wife and daughter are the envy of all.  He owns a highly and ever-growing real estate business and has ventured into a host of hospitality businesses that includes vacation lodges in Colorado, New Mexico and Baja, Mexico and restaurants.  And he has made significant donations and bequests to benefit a number of important institutions to benefit education and multicultural arts and technology.

Dr. Law’s evolving gigantic legacy leaves the Moon Lee scandal totally “in the dust”.  Stupidity, especially in the form of mindless sexual misconduct, has serious life consequences.  The serious fall from grace is immensely unkind and offers no chance of redemption.

Women can sexually assault boys too --- a la Moon Lee

While Dr. Law has been in China working on his new musical extravaganza to launch an important arts and technology institute in America early next year, the United States is facing a firestorm of sexual abuse accusations against men for inappropriate sexual assault against women, some even decades old.  This tirade of anger against men is somewhat disingenuous to say the least.  Other than for sexual aggression that involves violence, or threats of violence, most people I know would agree that the best response would have been to kick the offending ass “in the nuts” at the moment rather than to wait for a future opportunity (maybe) to make accusations to the national media.  Whose is to blame if the “victim” of seduction decided that career, job security, immediate financial reward or advantages outweigh the urge to castrate the offender by blunt force at the time?

All these belated accusations and regrets overshadow the real fact that women are truly equal to men in many ways and it is not necessary to view them as the weaker sex.  One gender threatening, over-powering or taking advantage of the other is absolutely a two-way street.  Of the innumerable complaints launched so openly by so many “oppressed” women, and occasional reports of sexual violations in the homosexual world, we do not recall any newsworthy accusations of inappropriate sexual advances of celebrity women against men, under-aged or otherwise.  We all know it occurs --- with all this women celebrity power and financial/corporate clout, it is inconceivable that women of higher status have not been aggressive with men of lesser means.

Dr. Law’s ex-wife, Chinese action-actress Moon Lee, is an obvious glaring example.  Less than three years into her marriage, this thirty-nine year old retired celebrity Hong Kong actress entered into a sexual relationship with an employee male dancer that was under-aged.  Moon would argue it was consensual, but this inequality in social and financial standing between the two makes the issue moot.  Making matters worse and even more nauseating was Moon and her ex-husband adopted the silly boy as a Chinese-style “adoptive son” (akin to a godson in the West) half way through the sordid affair.  This perverted relationship lasted two and a half years before it was finally discovered and, according to Dr. Law, led to one of most contentious divorces in Colorado history.  Colorado’s “no-fault” divorce law by its nature is an advantage for the party that is at fault.  Nevertheless, Moon was awarded very little money by the Court at the end of a four-year long legal battle.

Actually, Dr. Law sees all this now with a great sense of humor.  He knows from experience that the offender can be either man or woman.  Unless violence is involved, the offender is also not necessarily predatory.  The desire to seduce someone less powerful may just a natural human sexual instinct --- sometimes, it can be productive but often it can be downright stupid.  Regardless of gender, Moon Lee’s choice was destructive and beyond stupid.  In her case, and often in others as well, the victim may be complicit too.  Unless there is a violent assault, the potential victim could always say “hell, NO”; there is no need to yield while offering all sorts of excuses including job security.  So protect yourself at the beginning and do not depend on the law or the media to expose the offense years later.

Moon Lee’s sins overwhelm all others

Compared to all the transgressions revealed in the current American epidemic of sexual abuse, Moon Lee’s misconduct overshadows all of them.  No wonder the matter has maintained such continued interest in China over the last ten years and more.  By tradition, Chinese people have been viewed as more conservative and restrained; therefore such sexual perversity demonstrated by Moon has to be considered a “shocker”.

The floodgate of American sexual abuses by the more powerful parties in this barrage of scandals involved hearsay accusations, some apologies and some revelations of embarrassing actions.  Except for Miramar chief, Harvey Weinstein, the accusation of rape or actual sexual intercourse is distinctly rare.  Dr. Law has assured me that in the case of Moon Lee, if there were ever litigation over Moon’s actions, definitive proof of her actual lengthy misconduct involving sex is an absolute certainty.  This was not a case of inappropriate groping or naughty suggestive language or actions.  It was a clear case of sex involving a more powerful middle-aged female boss over an under-aged teenage boy employee.  To make the matter worse, it was a boy that addressed Moon openly as “Adoptive Mom” in the Chinese language for over two years.  That added an element of incest to the already over-the-top scandal.

Having worked for Dr. Law for almost a year now, I have occasion to review a lot of the material written about this stunning affair.  It is now easy to understand why Moon has for years ignored this part of her past.  She seems to be in some weird kind of concealment --- writing about her travels and maybe her cooking, but never revealing anything about herself.  It is peculiar to understand the reason for her madness because one would expect that any remaining fans would want to know about her whereabouts and important personal matters rather than her acting as an amateur tourist guide or kitchen chef.  Moon Lee’s idiotic interview exercise with Phoenix television early this year stirred up the cesspool of personal news, and it will be another action she will live to regret.

As an interested but clearly uninvolved third party, I can independently assess that Moon Lee must regret her actions from 2004 to 2007 greatly.  Moon Lee’s life and persona would be drastically different now if she had not given in to the temporary but perverse desire.  In contrast, I can tell that Dr. Law and his family now breathe a sigh of relief that the demon made itself clear so many years ago.  Now, permanently divorced from the Law family that is substantial in character and reputation and important in matters financial and cultural, Dr. Law can live a life freed from an unbearable burden.

American Sex Scandals Highlight Moon Lee’s Tragic Downfall

You would have to be blind, deaf and dumb worldwide not to be aware of the epidemic of sex scandals in America, both in the workplace and in schools.

All this sex in the workplace and in schools is leading important and powerful offenders to be totally destroyed by the exposure of their grave misconduct.  In many instances, huge sums of money have been paid out as compensation; in others, criminal offenses have led to indictments that may lead to both fines and imprisonment.  And reputations shall be destroyed for life!

The sex offender in the workplace can be heterosexual or homosexual in nature.  Although the offense of men assaulting women is more common, the reverse of a woman superior sexually seducing a dependent male employee is certain not rare.  Although male teachers have unfortunately sexually assaulted under-aged female students with some frequency, media and reporters gloat in their reports of female teachers having all kinds of sex with teenage male students.  The photos of these somewhat pretty and well-figured teachers are plastered in newspapers and online.  The media and people-at-large seem more mortified when the offender is an older woman taking advantage of a younger man or boy.  Society believes, rightly or wrongly, that women should have better restraint and should behave more thoughtfully than men.  So there is even unfair sexism in viewing sexual misconduct and assault.

In retrospect, Moon Lee was lucky to escape her sex scandal without such consequential punishment nearly ten years ago.  The explanation clearly rested on the relationship between Moon Lee and her then teenage lover.  It was not Moon’s call, of course, to avoid a lawsuit or a criminal indictment.  That fell entirely within the prerogative of the “injured” party.  Moon escaped disaster because the offending boy did not feel “injured” by his relationship with Moon.  He might have interpreted his ill-fated affair as “true love”, and therefore felt privileged to enjoy the relationship rather than being injured or assaulted.  By Zong Tian Yi (boy offender) refusing to admit the misconduct/affair, there was no way for him to lodge a formal complaint to legal authorities.  And Moon’s idiocy rests in her believing that the sexual affection for the “adoptive son”, junior employee/student and under-aged minor was a manifestation of meaningful love and caring.

Even though, disgraced by the events, Moon Lee narrowly escaped a legal nightmare that would have been much worse than “bad press”.   Moon Lee was actually saved by Dr. Law's expulsion of the illicit lover back to Beijing after discovering the long hidden affair.  Once back in Beijing, it became much harder for Zong to make a legal claim against Moon from China because of jurisdictional issues.  That possibility did not even cross his mind --- he was such the “star-crossed” lover that he thought it was “true love”.  Of course, Moon’s real liability was horrible publicity rather than financial losses.  The young lover was a foreign national employed with a contract executed in China, and legal jurisdiction would be a tough problem to overcome if he sued for monetary damages.  And his foolish “love” for Moon would dissuade him to try to put her in jail.

The whole thing is world-class stupidity for both of them!  No one could imagine how the illicit sex was worth the downfall.

Moon Lee – No. 3 Most Immoral in Chinese Entertainment Circles

I thought Moon had quit her quest for infamy as we had not seen a blog post by her in two months --- a record I must say.  But she is back, writing her meaningless Chinese travel log in her silly sina.com blog site that impresses no one.

So hurrah, hurrah, and we get to occasionally continue our comic relief by adding to her shame that she refuses to admit.

Sina.com published last week another one of the countless gossip essays about the dirt in China’s show business.  And lo and behold, Moon Lee is again rated as number three for immorality among Chinese entertainment circles.

Since Moon’s idiotic scandal involves having sex for two and a half years with an under-aged kid and an employee under her command, one who had also become her “adoptive son” (and thereby incestuous), it is shocking that she has not been rated number ONE!

No worries.  Since she seeks celebrity, she does have time to eventually climb to number one, a position she deserves.  As I have promised, as long as she pursues her celebrity, we will oblige by enhancing her cause.

Moon Lee --- Conspiracy with Lu Yu and Phoenix TV

I will use this English language blog to highlight differences between Chinese and western cultures from now on.  I will not use it to re-litigate Moon Lee’s self-inflicted scandal unless she chooses to publicize herself ort lie about her innocence openly in the future.

The outstanding issue that remains is my defamation lawsuit against Phoenix television.  The foregone conclusion is that I will have my day in Chinese court in Beijing.  What is unknown is whether Phoenix TV chooses to show up to defend itself.  Either way, the purpose of my lawsuit and the resultant verdict and judicial decision (right or wrong by western standards is irrelevant) will be aggressively publicized.   This gets the truth and its associated fairness out in the public domain more and more.  And advocating the truth is always the right thing!

In America, the right of free speech does not allow defamation, according to the law.  Herein lies the truth behind western law:  Anyone can publicly declare one’s opinion, but the public disclosure cannot contain known lies.  In other words, during Moon Lee’s interview with Lu Yu in her popular TV program, if Moon had said that in her opinion, her ex-husband looks like a pig or that she suspects me to be a closet homosexual, then that would be her opinion and right of free speech.  On the other hand, if she had claimed that I had been in jail, and that was factually incorrect, then she would be guilty of defamation; and Phoenix TV becomes an intentional co-conspirator by knowingly letting her make defaming statements.

Phoenix TV deserves to be sued over this.  My time and money would be spent in a worthwhile fashion to allow China and its courts to assess its position regarding defamation of any citizen.  It leads to public debate and discourse, allowing Chinese society to argue the points relating to media fairness.  Chinese citizens are used to media companies acting as an outlet for political propaganda.  That is different from whether media should take sides unfairly in a debate of private consequences.

Lu Yu has been a television celebrity for many years.  I have been told and it is my opinion as a western physician that she likely suffers (or suffered) from a medical condition (an actual neurosis) that is called Anorexia Nervosa.  Patients with that psychiatric disorder starve themselves to incredible thinness because they falsely think they are fat.  My medical opinion is that Lu Yu either has Anorexia Nervosa or she has a debilitating illness causing muscle wasting in order to look the way she does.  Medically speaking, I do NOT believe the latter.  So my medical opinion is that this TV celebrity may suffer now or in the past with Anorexia Nervosa.  Therefore, a prominent television media outlet working in China may have allowed a neurotic celebrity host to conspire with my lying ex-wife to defame my name, my reputation and damage my professional and personal image in the Chinese market.  It may be a case of the mad working with the even more mad to bring havoc and betray the truth.  This is “nuts”!

Lu Yu and Phoenix television deserves whatever publicity their defamation will bring upon them.  Whatever the judicial verdict, citizens properly interested in this subject matter should get the chance to debate all aspects of the issue.
